Stationary Tools Tips
Table Saw
Raise your carbide-tipped blades up 1
1/2" above the stock you are cutting. By doing
this, you will drop the tip temperature of the blade
by 300°, eliminating the #1 reason your blade and
bits become dull. Just be careful of the blade at its
increased height! (Eric Mook, Lombard Store Manager)
Band Saw
Round the back edge of your blade to
allow for smoother scrolling cuts. With the saw running,
hold a sharpening stone to the back edge of the blade
and round off the sharp edges that get caught when making
tight turns with the blade. (Eric Mook, Lombard Store
Manager)
All Cast Iron Machine Tops
Use T-9 from Boeshield (PMS Industries)
to protect any cast iron surface. This product will
not stain your wood or conflict with any of your top
coat finishes. It's great stuff! (Eric Mook, Lombard
Store Manager)
